HUNTLEY—On Oct. 29, residents will once again have the opportunity to safely dispose of their unused medications at several drive-up locations.
According to Northwestern Medicine, unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to potential accidental poisoning, misuse, and overdose.
The hospital will participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day by hosting eight collection sites from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“National Prescription Drug Take Back Day provides an opportunity for our community to join together to help reduce prescription drug abuse,” said Shawn McGhee-Paratore, PharmD and director of pharmacy at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.
