According to Hoeft, the plaque was given to Cowlin to show appreciation for Cowlin’s years of service to the village.

Cowlin is also partnered with the Crystal Lake based law firm Cowlin, Naughton & Curran, P.C. located at 20 Grant Street.

According to his lawyer profile, Cowlin has served as Huntley’s village attorney since 2015, where he specializes in the areas of local government, real estate, estate planning and civil litigation.

According to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner, the McHenry County College Police Department and the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to the incident at around 1:58 p.m.

It appeared that an MCC motorcycle class instructor was driving his personal Jeep vehicle on the campus parking lot after class when he “hit the gas,” and struck a student of his, who was unable to move out of the way in time, reported the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.

While the updated CDC and IDPH guidelines still recommend for the masking of individuals under 12 years of age who are not yet eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, both agencies state that schools now have the option to remove any of the COVID-19 prevention strategies based on local conditions.

Upon arrival to the location, police located what at the time, appeared to be an unconscious male subject with no obvious signs of injury. However, upon further inspection, Crystal Lake Fire Department personnel quickly determined the subject was deceased.

The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has since identified the 34-year-old male as Jeremy Ochal.

This month, all the superintendents of schools in McHenry County banded together to plead with the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Department of Health (IDPH) and Governor Pritzker to update their COVID-19 guidelines to reflect those of the CDC and not burden children with more requirements than vaccinated adults.

According to the statement, officers were dispatched to the area of Lawrence Avenue and North Aldine Street for a report of a found child in the area.

Further investigation led officers to the discovery that the child, who was unharmed, lived in the 300 block of Heine Avenue. The statement goes further to explain that “officers then responded to the 300 block of Heine where another child was located unharmed in the residence.”

According to a statement sent by ISP Trooper Omoayena Williams, the scene of the accident occurred on Interstate 90 (I-90) near milepost 46.75.

Upon arrival to the scene, ISP troopers responded to a one-unit personal injury traffic crash involving a green 2019 Ford Mustang, according to Williams.

Further investigation revealed that the Ford Mustang was traveling westbound when the driver attempted to avoid a collision with another vehicle on the roadway.

Nordman reminded the board that HDLP had made a prior zoning map amendment request in March 2020, which would also require changes to be made to the village’s I-90/IL-47 Gateway Plan that assists in identifying desired future land use and provides a framework for future planning decisions.

The deadline to apply for assistance under the McHenry County Emergency Utility and Rental Assistance Program has been pushed back an entire year, to Sept. 30, 2022. Renters and landlords who qualify are now eligible for up to 18 months of assistance, and up to 12 months in arrears.

The news was seemingly confirmed by the Democratic Party of McHenry County via their Twitter page, in which they stated that “President Biden will be visiting McHenry County College this Wednesday (July 7) to highlight some of the benefits of the American Families Plan.”

Walgreens pharmacy will be providing and administering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at both July clinics from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Eligible family members may also sign up for the clinic, with D158 stating that students from other districts may be accommodated if space allows.

The additional event will be held from 9 - 11:30 a.m., or until the shred truck reaches capacity, on Saturday, July 10, at the McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road in Woodstock. This event is open to McHenry County residents only. No businesses will be accepted, and there is a four banker box limit per vehicle.

“To refresh your memories, the conversation centered around registration fees. MCDH did not state how many tickets they received, but said tickets are “available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kathy Fosser, KCHD’s interim executive director, was ecstatic to announce how the county had surpassed President Joe Biden’s goal of vaccinating at least 70% of the adult population by July 4.

Typically there's precipitation in the winter and spring, and then a drought period in the summer, but the county does not usually begin summer in a drought, which has raised concerns this year, said Scott Kuykendall, water resources specialist at the County Department of Planning and Development.

While the snowfall in February helped bring moisture up, higher winds sucked moisture from the ground, as did high temperatures, causing a drought, Kuykendall said.

The police department responded to a call for a motorist assist at approximately 8:30 p.m. near the area of Route 47 and Del Webb Boulevard.

According to Huntley Police Deputy Chief Michael Klunk, as an officer was enroute to the location, another caller “reported what was allegedly gunshots being fired from a person that had left the disabled vehicle, that had been left in the roadway.”
