Schlichter explained that the program had been investigated by the district for over five years and the BOE would only need to vote on the intergovernmental agreement between D158 and MCC.

“Essentially the vision for our Dual Degree Program is that Huntley 158 students will have the opportunity to earn an associate of arts degree concurrently with their high school diploma.

“It’s like a large party,” said Mike Stojak, club manager of The Huntley Legion. 

The Huntley Legion will ask for donations at the door. Charities that the legion collaborates with to help veterans will set up tables with their information at the fest to collect money for local veteran organizations.

Shortly after, Huntley Investment Partners LLC (HIP) submitted an application to the village, for a zoning change from Regional Retail to ORI-Office/Research/Industrial District.

One of the selling points for installing a lawn irrigation system was a lower cost to watering your lawn. A separate meter could be installed that would measure the water used for outdoor purposes and a sewer charge would not be applied. Mike Pierce, a battalion chief for the Huntley Fire Protection District, stated that the Hampshire Police Department and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office were also dispatched to the accident, though the Kane County Sheriff’s Office was leading the investigation.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has allowed for school districts to continue to offer online learning options to students who have medical conditions or concerns within their families. However, Rowe commented that the goal of his presentation was more geared on analyzing whether an online student life and course work could be sustainable to aid in student success, especially at the secondary level.

ISP Trooper Jayme Bufford stated that preliminary reports indicated that a 2020 silver Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound when it struck the concrete Interstate wall.

Reports indicated that after the sole male occupant struck the wall, he “exited the vehicle and headed eastbound from the scene of the crash.”

According to the Village of Huntley’s Director of Development Services Charles Nordman, the groundwork began about four weeks ago.

“They’re doing a lot of earth work and that’s been primarily what they’re doing so far. So, they [have] I think a few more weeks of earth work going on out there before they start to actually make some of the improvements to the property or start to construct some of the utilities,” Nordman said.
