Back in April, Kane County Judge David P. Kliment found Moran Sanchez guilty of the following offenses:

Two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a Class X felony; and two separate counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class X felony, and a Class 1 felony.

LeMoine issued a press release statement about her tenure at D158 and her new opportunity, as an education outreach manager for International Corrugated Packaging Foundation.

Despite the county’s best efforts, a recent significant increase in suspected fatal overdoses has been identified within a four-week period between May 12 and June 9, according to MCDH.

“Based on provisional McHenry County Coroner’s Office data, there were 2.5 times more overdoses during this time period compared to the preceding four weeks,” stated the health department in a press release statement.

The increase in these incidents led the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office to begin collaboration efforts with the Fox River Grove Police Department to jointly investigate the deaths and address the concerns surrounding the River Inn Motel.

The two agencies have worked diligently to implement crucial security measures that prioritize the safety of all individuals within the establishment and nearby premises, stated McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally.

George Ieremciuc, president of True North Properties, Inc., explained that the developers had run into some hurdles due to sprinkler head supply issues, which resulted in not being able to pass the building inspection.

Additionally, some walls within the building were not able to be entirely closed off.

According to a press release by the district’s Director of Communications and Public Relations Alex LeMoine, Gibbs will be undertaking his new role in the 2023-24 school year after he was recommended to the BOE from a thorough search process of many qualified candidates.

Gibbs is set to replace current Heineman Middle School Principal Stephanie Mitchell, who will be transitioning to an assistant principal role at Leggee Elementary School in the upcoming school year.

On June 21, the Kane County Coroner’s Office identified 34-year-old Tomas Vargas Jr. and 29-year-old Adriana Marquez, both of South Bend, Indiana, as the two individuals who were found laying in different locations in a farm field near the area of North Main Street and Walker Drive.

Dr. Rowe is the son of educators parents, Margaret and the late Terry Rowe.

In a press conference, Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain stated that on the day of the incident, deputies were alerted of a car hijacking that took place in Aurora. The vehicle, which was identified as a Honda Accord, was located using license plate readers that are located throughout the county.

According to a HPD press release, seat belts have proven to be life-saving in the event of a crash. Unfortunately, many still don't buckle up. Also, not wearing a seat belt is a habit that can be passed on to younger generations who follow the example set by their elders.

As previously reported in My Huntley News, on Nov. 30, 2021, Algonquin Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of La Fox River Drive for a “well-being check” after a resident, Peter M. Almen, failed to show up to work that day.

Upon arrival at the residence, police officers attempted to contact Peter and his wife, Elvira “Ella,” however, no one came to answer the door.

Huntley District 158, along with the other selected school districts, are members of AASA's Learning 2025 Network, a group of more than 120 demonstration districts representing "forward-leaning, urban,  suburban, and rural school systems engaged in learning, networking and working together to help drive 'policy and ultimately improve student learning," according to the District 158 press release.

According to D158 Director of Communications and Public Relations Alex LeMoine, Lombard volunteered to fill the role after current D158 Superintendent Dr. Scott Rowe announced that he had accepted the position of superintendent in the Arlington Heights-based Northwest High School District 214.
