Before the updates, Village Manager Dave Johnson told the board that they should anticipate a request for an extension on the opening dates for the Coral Street Firehouse property, which will be further detailed at the upcoming June 22 Village Board meeting.

The Lincolns came before the Board of Trustees at the Jan. 12 Village Board meeting to present their vision for a proposed new business that they named Lincoln House & Co.

During the Jan. 12 meeting, Deputy Village Manager Lisa Armour told trustees that the Lincoln family would be adding some modifications to the exterior part of the building that would likely qualify for financial assistance through the village’s Façade Improvement Program.

That discussion carried over into the June 1 Committee of the Whole meeting where Mike Fisher, a parent of another Mackeben Elementary Dual-Language Program student, echoed similar concerns about the numerous times learning has been interrupted by one student.

The mall, which is situated in both West Dundee and Carpentersville, currently only has two landlords remaining: Kohl’s and Kohan Retail Investment Group which owns the former Carson Pirie Scott building and the interior of the mall.

As of recent, the Village of West Dundee Board of Trustees voted to purchase the 192,000-square-foot former Sears Building at Spring Hill for $2 million.

On the day of the incident, members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the Fox Lake Police Department, the Spring Grove Police Department, the Richmond Police Department, and the Spring Grove Fire Department responded to a crash involving the North Chicago man, who was found on the roadway unconscious and not breathing.

In a press conference, Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain stated that on the day of the incident, deputies were alerted of a car hijacking that took place in Aurora. The vehicle, which was identified as a Honda Accord, was located using license plate readers that are located throughout the county.

According to a HPD press release, seat belts have proven to be life-saving in the event of a crash. Unfortunately, many still don’t buckle up. Also, not wearing a seat belt is a habit that can be passed on to younger generations who follow the example set by their elders.

As previously reported in My Huntley News, on Nov. 30, 2021, Algonquin Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of La Fox River Drive for a “well-being check” after a resident, Peter M. Almen, failed to show up to work that day.

Upon arrival at the residence, police officers attempted to contact Peter and his wife, Elvira “Ella,” however, no one came to answer the door.

Huntley District 158, along with the other selected school districts, are members of AASA’s Learning 2025 Network, a group of more than 120 demonstration districts representing “forward-leaning, urban,  suburban, and rural school systems engaged in learning, networking and working together to help drive ‘policy and ultimately improve student learning,” according to the District 158 press release.

According to D158 Director of Communications and Public Relations Alex LeMoine, Lombard volunteered to fill the role after current D158 Superintendent Dr. Scott Rowe announced that he had accepted the position of superintendent in the Arlington Heights-based Northwest High School District 214.

During public comments, Chuck Ruth, whose family has called Huntley their home for six generations, came up to the podium to present McMahon a gift as a token of appreciation for her hard work on behalf of his family.

Ruth explained that he grew up around McMahon’s family during the time that Huntley was still largely considered a farm town.

According to Mosser, Heather was charged with the offense of child abduction, a Class 4 felony, back in July of 2017 after she allegedly abducted her then 9-year-old biological daughter, Kayla, which violated a 2012 court order that granted permanent custody to Kayla’s father, Ryan Iskerka.

A group of seven Huntley High School girls lacrosse players continued their interest in the sport through club and town teams reported for freshman season at Red Raider Stadium workouts four years ago. The contingent, Allie Ambrogio, Sophia Zion, Leah Hiller, Kilee Galgay, Ashley Garrard, Abby Reyes and Ashley Zolen participated in a walk-though with their parents and younger players holding up their sticks in salute.

The evening events included allowing the remaining current board members to say a few words to the departing trustees.

Trustee Ronda Goldman was the first to give her gratitude to the three former board members, which included highlighting how Leopold mentored her 10 years ago, an appreciation for Kittle’s detailed observations and due diligence, as well as complementing Kanakaris’ extensive knowledge of buildings.

According to authorities, the male subject had been struck by a train and was later identified as 49-year-old Douglas Johnson of Yorkville.

Johnson was transported to the Kane County Morgue where an external examination was performed on May 8. The preliminary cause of death was determined to be due to multiple injuries.

Bell has balanced his leadership role with an up-and-coming volleyball program, contributed to the track and field team as well as playing trombone in the band.

Bell plans to continue to be busy in college, as he will attend Northern Illinois University to study to become a teacher as his mom Mary and dad Adam Bell. He applied for and was awarded an Illinois High School Association Foundation $1,000 scholarship.

Upon the arrival of Fire Engine 1411 at the Hampshire Social (124 South State Street), fire department personnel noted that there was an odor of ammonia in the back area of the coffee shop. At 5:43 p.m., the whole building was immediately evacuated.

The Hampshire Fire Protection District stated that firefighters quickly made their way to the refrigerator/compressor room at Dreymiller & Kray, Inc.,

Authorities soon began an active search for the missing McHenry man and were further assisted on April 23 by the McHenry County Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD), the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, and the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency.

According to the agenda meeting packet, the proposed gas station would include a Which Wich sandwich restaurant and a standalone car wash. Kelley’s Market also expressed a desire to sell packaged beer and wine.
