The Red Raiders have one dual match victory, one third place finish at the Sycamore Tournament and a ninth place finish at the Lake Park Invite. Senior Caleb Vergona led HHS at Lake Park with a 39th place finish Nov. 12.

“I am extremely proud of the start to the season,” third-year Huntley coach Jacob Wagner said.

The Scots are champions of NJCAA  District A of Region IV and have qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa which starts Nov. 17. Head coach Kyle McCall won Region IV coach of the Year hobors as he guided the MCC squad to a 28-12 record. The 10th year coach at the Crystal Lake junior college's squad consists of almost all area Fox Valley Conference prep standouts.

On a chilly Saturday afternoon, both Burak twin sisters earned All-State Class 3A honors with 12th and 21st places, respectively at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Molly Allen, meanwhile, finished 43rd to conclude her cross country career. The Red Raiders finished 13th in team standings with 373 points.

"Our top three girls closed out their high school careers giving everything they had to finish their final race," Huntley coach Matt Kaplan said.

The two teams combined for 71 wins, two unbeaten league crowns and two sectional championships. They split two matches heading to a super sectional match Nov. 4 at Dundee-Crown. Barrington's last loss en route to state, was to Huntley in September. But this Friday, it was the Fillies who celebrated after winning the Class 4A IHSA super sectional, 10-25, 25-14, 28-26.

The Red Raiders secured their third straight sectional championship, with a 25-23, 25-22 triumph over Hononegah Nov. 2 at Machesney Park Harlem. Huntley also turned back St. Charles North 25-20, 26-24 in the sectional semifinals.

HHS, 32-6, advanced to face Barrington (38-1) at the Dundee-Crown super-sectional Nov. 4. The winner at D-C advances to the IHSA Class 4A state quarterfinals at Illinois State University.

"The past four years have been a blast and so much fun," Filipek said.

The return to the IHSA playoffs did not go as hoped despite a promising start. The Red Raiders saw a 10-point lead flipped to an 28-8 scoring spree by the Thunderbolts and an 8-2 season came to an end Oct.

Deligio, a 5-10, 185 pound signal caller, chalked up 356 yards rushing and eight touchdowns. He threw for 656 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception in 110 attempts. The Red Raiders face Andrew at Red Raiders Stadium in the Class 8A playoffs Oct. 28.

Deligio, in his second year at HHS after a transfer from Jacobs before his junior year, tackled a survey  about football and sports in general.

Wojtas is a perfect 4 for 4 in field goal tries and 12 for 15 in Point After Touchdown attempts. He averages 39.8 yards per punt for 996 total yards with a long of 59 and eight inside the opponents' 20-yard line. He has topped 1,200 yards in kickoffs.

The HHS girls finished with 15 points to top the field while the boys won with 63 points. The boys and girls continue with the Class 3A Lake Park Sectional in Roselle Oct. 29, seeking spots at the state championship races at Detweiller Park in Peoria Nov. 5.

Breanna Burak won the girls meet honors as she crossed the finish line first;  Brittney Burak was fourth and Molly Allen's fifth for all-region.

The Red Raiders strong 28-6 season is led by front row standouts seniors Ally Panzloff, Emily Willis, Avary DeBlieck and junior Morgan Jones and the setter is senior Maggie Duyos who has topped 1,000 assists with the help of "the wall."

"The 18-0 FVC record was a huge motivator for us," HHS coach Karen Naymola said. "Panzloff and DeBlieck are such great leaders for us and setter Maggie Duyos has such great confidence in them and spread the passes out so well."

Doughty finished fourth at the Rockford Auburn sectional and joined doubles teams Emily Chong and Elaina Hibbeler and Kate Burkey and Delaney Stock at the state meet. HHS, FVC regular season and tournament champs,  finished third in the team standings at Auburn.

"Doughty had the skills as a freshman but coming in she had to learn how to handle the pressure of No.

"We as a staff are just so proud that the team could rally behind each other and bounce back after a sub-par year last year and earn a share of the FVC. It wasn't an easy path but it was a fun journey with the team," HHS head coach Mike Naymola said.

"It is important to show the younger players what playing Huntley football has meant to us," senior linebacker Dashaun Manning said. "But it's hard to state in five minutes what 12 years of football in Huntley means."

The Red Raiders' achieved an 8-1 regular season and co-Fox Valley Conference title. Huntley will host Andrew, (6-3) of Tinley Park in the first playoff game.

Red Raiders boys cross country coach Matt Kaplan commented on Nitz and Rasmussen's careers.

"Nitz is a hard working person," Kaplan said. "He wants to get better every day and works to reach his goals he sets for himself.

"The girls won the FVC as freshmen and now as seniors," Kaplan said as the race day concluded at Veterans Acres Park in Crystal Lake.  Huntley totaled 76 points to edge Crystal Lake South's 83. Crystal Lake Central was third, 98, McHenry had 99 and Cary-Grove rounded out the top five with a 101 score.

Nitz outran the field to win first place to set up momentum heading into the Class 2A Regional meet at Macheseney Park Harlem Oct. 22. Qualifiers move on to the Lake Park sectional in Roselle Oct. 29.

"We talked about Nitz winning the FVC race and he went out and did it today," Red Raiders coach Matt Kaplan said.

The rain and wind had died down by the time James Lang's take away prevented the Chargers from making it a one-score deficit in the final minutes of Huntley's 31-19 triumph Oct. 14.

Huntley improved to 7-1, 7-1 FVC, and remained in a three-way tie with Jacobs and Prairie Ridge. The HHS senior night game is next against Crystal Lake South (5-3, 5-3) Oct.

The band, which competes in the 2A category at competitions, has been able to place first at every competition they have attended so far.

This includes the Lake Park Lancer Joust and Victor J. Andrew Marching Band Invitational to being named the Grand Champion of their most recent competition at the Prospect High School Knight of Champions, according to Krivosik.

"I'll miss all the energy you get when you play here," senior co-captain Micah Overly said.  "It's the last home match so we wanted to come in and give it our all."

"It's always fun to end the season on an exciting note," Huntley coach Matt Lewandowski said.

The Red Raiders called upon its reserves to fill in for starting middle blocker Emily Willis due to an illness and setter Maggie Duyos, who injured a knee. Pinch hitting were seniors Kendall Gallaugher and Madelyn Moran at middle blocker and junior Laura Boberg at setter  Huntley did not miss a beat in improving to 21-4 overall, 15-0 FVC.
